The Bungalow Hotel Long Branch New Jersey USA
The design of Bungalow (by Sixx Design) may have been chronicled in a reality-TV show - Bravo's 9 by Design - but that doesn't dilute its cool factor. A handcrafted wood bar by upstate New York artist John Houshmand, a vintage pool table, old board games and a 1960s foosball table encourage hanging out in the lobby. In the 24 guest rooms, whitewashed wood floors and mixed media art works by British artist Ann Carrington evoke the feel of a private beach house. Carrington is also responsible for the hotel's piece de resistance - an enormous postage stamp made from thousands of pearl buttons which dominates the lobby. The Bungalow's beach club 'Le Club' designed by London based architect David Collins, who also designed Nobu's Berkeley St Restaurant, is a chic modern private beach club in the heart of Long Branch America's earliest resort destination.
